    Demonstration against demolition of Ravidas temple in Tughlakabad turns violent

    Bhim Navy chief Chandrashekhar Azad was once arrested just a few hours after being detained at South East Delhi’s Govindpuri police website early on Thursday.A conflict had broken out between police and Dalit protesters in Govindpurion Wednesday night at some level of a demonstration against the demolition of the Ravidas temple in Tughlakabad.

    Extra Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Gyanesh Kumar confirmed the arrest. A case below relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code was once registered, police acknowledged.

    On Wednesday, a variety of Dalit groups staged a snarl against thedemolition of the Ravidas temple in Tughlakabad on August 10following a Supreme Court expose. The demonstration turned violent leisurely within the night as protesters marched in direction of the temple, resorted to stone-pelting and dilapidated sticks to assault policemen who resorted to pressure to get the workforce.
